DBReplicator User Manual

Installation

Chapter 2. Installation

2.1. General Installation Notes

This section describes how to install DBReplicator through the several methods available.

Note

The files ending in '.conf' are only used on linux systems. When installing on windows systems, you'll need to make path and hostname changes in 'setpath.bat' and possibly also in SubServer.bat/PubServer.bat

2.1.1. Pre-requisites

Before installing DBReplicator, ensure that at least that an appropriate JRE(Java Runtime Environment) is installed on the target system(s). If you intend to compile from source, you will need to obtain a Java SDK. If you don't have either of these, they may be downloaded freely from:

http://java.sun.com

You will also need log4j.jar, which can be obtained from:

http://jakarta.apache.org/log4j/docs/download.html

In addition, you will need to obtain a JDBC Jar file that is appropriate for the database to which you wish to connect.
